A Perfect Circles first two albums established their place in heavy music history through a moonlit moodiness anchored by Billy Howerdels expressive guitar work and TOOL vocalist Maynard James Keenans plaintive vocal tremoring. Their third full-length, eMOTIVe, invigorated some of APCs favorite songs with their signature sound, while also adding a pair of original tracks to the canon. An anti-war theme coalesced around covers of John Lennons Imagine, Marvin Gayes Whats Going On? and more, pushing the group into their most overtly political period yet.
